DSP Engineer

Role:
The candidate(s) will be responsible for architecting, designing, algorithm development, implementation and verification of physical layer requirements for 2.5/3G & 4G wireless systems.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Design and implementation of (DSP firmware) 3-4G physical layer wireless requirements; UMTS , EVDO, and LTE
  • Design, implementation and verification of physical layer inter-networking software algorithms.
  • Designing C/C++ and MATLAB simulations to evaluate system performance under multi-path – fading channel propagation conditions.
  • Coordinate with hardware and upper layer software engineers in implementing and satisfying specification requirements.

Skills/Requirements:

  • BSEE/MSEE in Mathamatics-Physics & or Electrical Engineering plus relevant industry experience in DSP, algorithm design and implementation
  • Expertise in communication theory, signal processing, error correcting codes, information theory, probability and random processes.

Intern DSP Test Job Description

Job Description:
This position deals with software testing for the physical layer of 3G 1xEVDO. The candidate will be required to perform test automation for the physical layer modules for 1xEVDO. Knowledge of communication systems theory, cdma systems and signal processing is required.

Skills/Requirements:

  • Work in a team to develop and debug 3G wireless systems
  • The task spans HW/SW algorithm design/implementation/test to platform bring-up and characterization.
  • Experience working with fixed point signal processors is a plus, experience working with fixed point signal processors is a plus

Embedded Real Time Software Engineers (3)

Role:
The candidate (s) will be responsible for embedded software upper Layer protocol development. This is a hands-on role, involving analyzing system behavior, designing, implementing and integrating enhancements, and then validation prior to release.

Job Responsibilities:
Real time embedded device programming of communication protocols for 3-4G wireless systems, system level platform development.

Skills/Requirements:

  • BSEE/MSEE in Electrical Engineering plus relevant industry experience in protocol software.

Protocols Software Engineer

Role:
The candidate will be responsible for the development of platform and applications aspects for the GWT UMTS Femtocell The candidate will be responsible for developing core network UMTS protocols such as RANAP, RRC, RLC and MAC for the UMTS Femtocell. This is a hands-on role, involving analyzing system behavior, designing, implementing and integrating enhancements, and then testing prior to release.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Developing in an environment using one or more of: Linux, GNU toolchain, Eclipse CDT and SVN.
  • Developing for a target running Linux, ideally on a multi-core processors.
  • Development in kernel space.
  • Programming SIMs and TPMs.

Intern- SW Engineer

Description:
The Global Wireless Technologies (GWT) is looking for an undergrad- graduate intern to design and implement prototypes related to communications sub-systems . The selected candidate shall work under the guidance of software communications system architects.

Qualifications:

  • M.S candidates with specialization in Computer Science or Engineering are be preferred.
  • The selected candidate must demonstrate proficiency in programming languages such as C, C++ and python.
  • Working knowledge in one or more flavors of Linux operating systems such as Fedora and Ubuntu is a must.
  • The candidate must have working knowledge in use of tools such as GNU and scripting languages.
  • Candidate must be familiar with Linux kernel programming, device drivers
  • Familiarity with one or more communications technologies (, 3G) and low-level software design in Linux desired.
  • Candidate must have familiarity with code instrumentation and use of software tools for power and performance measurements and profiling.

Linux Software Engineers

Summary:
The candidates will be responsible for developing and supporting embedded software for a next-generation mobile wireless base station and base station controller. This position requires: embedded C++ development experience in an RTOS environment, experience with multiprocessor software development and familiarity with communications equipment. This role often involves working as part of a small team or independently for both development and support of our existing software through the software release cycles.

Skills/Requirements:

  • Minimum of 4+ yrs of experience that includes embedded systems, RTOS, Compact PCI, ‘C/C++’ programming, object oriented design skills, debugging and resolving defects.
  • Ideal candidate should have some experience in embedded RTOS (Linux Kernel understanding; Linux File System), Linux Firmware Management and system services such as inter-process communication, chassis management, redundancy and some embedded network management (CLI, SNMP, XML).
  • Knowledge of data communications, computer network protocols (ex: TCP/IP, Ethernet, T1/E1, PPP).
  • Experience in developing OS abstraction layers for Linux, building communication framework software for a multiprocessor platform and node management software.
  • Experience with PowerPC, MIPS, and x86 64 CPU architectures including BSP and driver development for either Linux
  • Experience with Tool chains (gnu compilers for PowerPC, MIPS, x86.)
  • Strong problem solving, troubleshooting, debugging. Systematic and detail oriented with an understanding of RTOS task scheduling, task interactions, semaphores, memory management and embedded file systems.
  • Experience working defects through a well defined defect resolution process. This may include determining root cause while updating defect notes during the analysis and documenting the fix, risks and instructions for testers before checking in bug fixes

Software Quality Assurance Engineer

Summary:
Responsible for establishment and maintenance of a QA process covering GWT’s multi-standard products ,experience in CDMA,UMTS & LTE system testing.

Job Responsibilities:
Test planning, test bed set up and test execution, defect management, requirements, feature architecture and test plan reviews, feature and system test execution.

Role:

  • Provide and maintain Debugging and Trouble-shooting customer issues in Platform and Application areas under time constraints
  • Provide analysis and recommend solutions as well as implement the solutions
  • Provide technical support to customer facing teams when critical issues or service outages happen
  • Guide and support other members of the team in resolving technical issues and improving their debugging skills

Skills/Requirements:

  • Experience in CDMA 2k,UMTS ( LTE) system testing.
  • Should have a good knowledge of call processing, hand offs and mobility management.
  • Experience in test estimation, test planning and test execution and exposure defect tracker tool Clear Quest is must.
  • Knowledge of QXDM, PDSN testing tools, NMS/EMS.
  • Exposure in configuring, VOIP/PTT testing will be an added advantage
  • Must possess strong debugging and analytical skills

System Administrator

Role:
Under limited supervision, performs system administration & planning for all aspects of GWT- IT-infrastructure. Provide a reliable, durable & cost-effective solutions for all GK’s IT related needs.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform a wide range of system administration duties on windows, Linux and VMware servers including install, debug, maintain, upgrade, and general support.
  • Perform a wide range of network administration duties on all the routers and switches.
  • Expert knowledge in scripting languages, like Perl, bash, etc.
  • Maintain, upgrade and install key development tools, like, CVS, Bugzilla, etc.
  • Evaluate, test, and deploy all software and hardware upgrades to the company infrastructure.
  • Proactive monitoring of all servers, machine, instruments and other applications and services using a combination of tools to ensure high availability and SLA’s.
  • Perform regular and on-demand system backups and recoveries.
  • Assist in developing, implementing, testing and maintaining server level disaster recovery plans.
